Work Permits for Home Education

HB33, which was signed by Governor DeWine on July 3, 2023, included a provision that permits students over 16 years of age to be employed using a work permit issued by his/her parent.

Update on HR 6392

In Ohio home education graduates are protected from discrimination through state law, RC 3313.6110 . CHEO worked closely with state legislators to ensure the homeschool graduate’s diploma would be legally recognized in Ohio and nationally.

At the federal level HSLDA has been working with members of Congress to provide similar protection in the eligibility of homeschool graduates to receive federal student aid. HSLDA has provided an update on HR 6392 .
