Mark your calendars for Tuesday, October 16, 2018
and join us for another EXCITING and INFORMATIVE day
at the Capitol!
Capitol Day is a great field trip for all homeschool families and an important
way to impact your legislators’ support for home educating freedom! It is also a
wonderful way to fulfill some of the history requirements for your school year!
Join us for another exciting line-up…
We are excited to have State Representative Ron Hood addressing our
families in the morning session. Representative Hood is a homeschool dad and will
be available to answer any of your questions regarding his homeschool journey and his legislative work.
State Board of Education member, Sarah Fowler, will join us for the day…and we are
truly thankful to have her! Sarah brings a fresh perspective on serving on the State board
as a homeschool graduate. She is an inspirational speaker and a wonderful role model for students of all ages!
Melanie Elsey, CHEO legislative liaison for 25 years, will also update families on current
legislative issues within the state and be available all day to answer any of your questions.
If you haven’t met Melanie, make sure to stop by the CHEO table and introduce yourself. She is always
happy to meet the families she serves on behalf of CHEO.
We are also blessed to have Dr. Jeff Sanders with us!
Dr. Sanders is a member of The Public Square radio broadcast team, produced by American Policy Roundtable.
Jeff is passionate about America’s history and was raised on stories of his ancestors dating back to the days of the War for Independence. In his spare time, Jeff is a Civil War re-enactor and teaches in schools, churches, and civic organizations about the average life of a Civil War soldier.
You do not want to miss this incredible presentation...the kids will love it and learn so much!
