Study

Participants Needed…

We’ve all heard that homeschool students test, on average, higher than their public school peers. Did you know this data is more than a decade old?

We continue to see increasing attacks nationally on homeschooling and our freedoms. We know that quality research is a powerful tool in protecting homeschool freedom. You have the opportunity to showcase your child’s academic success by contributing to a new, multi-state research study!

This collaborative nationwide study is an opportunity to collect current data that will help continue the important work of defending homeschool freedom.

Your participation will allow all homeschoolers to showcase to legislators nationwide the success of homeschool students.

All data collected is ANONYMOUS. Receive a 10% discount on testing materials, as well.

Academic Achievement Study Project Partners

NHERI

NHERI is a trusted and long-withstanding leading research group that has served state homeschool organizations across the nation, homeschool families, scholars, the media, courts, policymakers, and the general public for over 32 years. Names will not be used in reports and publications for any individual state study or multi-state study.

NHERI is currently collecting data for analysis and summary through a short, anonymous survey. No student’s or family’s personally identifying information will be released to NHERI. Research reports based on the data may then be presented to outlets such as homeschool organizations’ websites, legislators, policymakers, the homeschool community, or scholarly journals. Participants should plan to complete the survey after receiving their student’s testing ID Number and before their student takes their test.

BJU Press Homeschool:

BJU Press Homeschool will create reports provided to NHERI with student score data identified by an assigned student ID number only. Any such reports will contain student ID numbers but will have no personally identifying information for the students or families. (BJU Press Homeschool maintains their customer files, including student ID and test scores, as part of their regular operation whether you test with them individually or in conjunction with a homeschool support group, or state homeschool organization.) Only families who complete the anonymous survey and include their student’s ID number will be included in the BJU Press Homeschool reports provided to NHERI.

Who May Participate:

Only families who complete the anonymous survey, order the IOWA form E through the CHEO portal, and include their student’s ID number will be included in the BJU Press reports that will be provided to NHERI. By completing  this survey and providing your student’s ID number from BJU Press, you are agreeing to allow Christian Home Educators of Ohio and BJU Press to work with NHERI to create group reports that will be used for blind studies.

Names will not be used in reports or publications of the study.  The survey only takes 5-10 minutes to complete per student.

Research Agreement & Survey

By completing the Research Agreement & Survey and providing your student’s ID number from BJU Press Homeschool, you are agreeing to allow BJU Press Homeschool to work with NHERI to create group reports that will be used for blind studies. If you are testing with a homeschool support group or a state homeschool organization, you are agreeing to allow that homeschool support group or state homeschool organization and BJU Press Homeschool to work with NHERI to create group reports that will be used for blind studies.  The survey only takes 5-10 minutes to complete per student.

You may test individually, with a homeschool support group, or with a regional homeschool organization such as MPE and decline to participate in the study.
