Join us for a day of helpful instruction with Anita Gibson, a high school consultant with
Home School Legal Defense Association! 

CHEO will provide separate sessions to help families plan and clarify their
high school as home educators.

Bottled water and a light snack will be provided in the morning.

Anita Gibson:

Anita Gibson is an author, speaker, and educational strategist. She develops paths to academic success for students and organizations through educational programs, training sessions, and academic support.

Her book, STAR Finder, assists parents with finding their children’s strengths, talents, and abilities and provides resources for discovering their future potential.

Developing a High School Plan: Sample 4-Year Plans

What plan would suit your high school student? What subjects do you teach and when? Do you follow a basic high school plan, a general college prep plan, or a rigorous college prep plan? This seminar will help organize your thoughts and lay the groundwork for a viable four-year plan. You’ll learn about high school credits, simplifying grading, and the fundamentals of record keeping – transcripts, extracurriculars, and diplomas.

Charting Your Way:  For College, Career, & Military

Preparing your teens for their post-graduation goals requires advance planning. This seminar provides a timeline and checklist to ensure that important items are included!  For college-bound teens, discover tips for the application and financial aid process. For teens headed into careers, explore training, employment, and workplace skills. For teens interested in a military career, learn about the military’s homeschool enlistment policy and advice for applying to the service academies.

High School Transcript Clinic: Practical Helps and Tips

Creating a high school transcript is a vital part of your teen’s high school records. In this interactive, practical seminar, you’ll create a transcript that can be used as a template when designing your own. The session will guide you through the essentials of transcripts, how to evaluate credit, steps to simplify grading, and how to calculate grade point averages (GPAs)

Career Opportunities through the Trades: 

A representative from the National Roofing Contractors Association will help parents to assist students wishing to explore a variety of career opportunities through the roofing industry.

College Credit Plus – Explore the Possibilities

A representative from Cedarville University will describe Ohio’s funding process and clarify the opportunities available for home educating families across the state.
