Have you been thinking that you would love to be a financial blessing to CHEO in some creative way, but you just can’t put your finger on a way to do it? Do you have a specialty item that you or your family could donate to CHEO for our 2014 CHEO Convention Silent Auction?

Be creative — an afghan you’ve crocheted, some jams you’ve canned, a service that you can provide in your region (like a catered meal, a day of spring cleaning or maybe even a decorated birthday cake made to order?), a family day on your pontoon boat skippered by your wonderful homeschool dad, a painted masterpiece, a handmade bookshelf or small table, note cards, honey from your hives, a ¼ of a beef processed from your herd, or a gift certificate to a popular restaurant!  Those suggestions were just to get you thinking. The sky is the limit!

If you’d like to participate, please email the description of your item (including the value of the item(s)) by April 1 to have your donation information included in our convention notebook, or by May 31, if you don’t care if your donation is recorded in the notebook but you would still like to support CHEO. All donors will receive a donation receipt for the value of the donation for tax purposes.

All donations will need to be either delivered in advance, or brought to the convention as early as possible Friday (preferably before the Keynote Session). Bidding will begin immediately following the Friday Keynote Session, and will close at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, with winners being revealed at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday.  Winners need to pay for and collect their items by 5:00 p.m. (before leaving on Saturday).  All proceeds of the auction will go to CHEO.

A number of our vendors are donating items as well as many other businesses in the state, so it should be a wonderful event. And if you are still drawing blank about what your family can offer for the auction…remember, we will need shoppers as well!
